does anyone know when easter school holidays are for 2012 in the UK

does anyone know when easter school holidays are for 2012 in the UK?
basically i am planning my wedding and am also doing my teacher training so am trying to fit it in within school holidays but am unsure when the two wks are specifically?? Thanks

Most appear to close on Friday 30th March and re-open on Monday 16th April. A few are a week later than that. Easter Sunday is 8th April.

How do I sue my school in the UK?
Hello, I wanted to apply for college and they told me I needed my reference page filled in by my teacher at school. I went to my school to get my reference filled in and my teacher was busy so they gave the form to a different teacher. The different teacher filled it in and wrote saying I never attended lessons during the day in year 11, when I actually did. However, I didn't used to attend lessons in year 10 but I improved in year 11. She also wrote some other lies too claiming it took a lot of encouragement to make me larn when I actually worked really hard!! Plus she didn't even teach me in year 11!! I got another reference page and went back to the school to get it filled in by the teacher who I first wanted to fill it in but she was busy, as I got to the school they said she is still busy!! The school however said that they will contact me when it is filled in but haven't rang me for a week! As a result, my chances of getting a place at college is low. Is there any way for me to take legal action against my school for writing lies on my reference page and refusing to filling it because they are busy? Well its about 2 weeks because my first visit to them was a week before! Plus, the college Im applying to is popular and I need to give them the reference page asap!

US law school scholarships for UK graduates?
Hello, Here is my plan and please tell me your thoughts and please no negativity? Thanks. I am just completing the second year of my LLB in UK law from BPP university, I will be graduated with an LLB in law in May 2011. Now I am at the very top of my class! I have found my feet with law, I love it and am doing exceptionally well. I am like a prodigy. I am 31 and already have a degree in Politics & Criminology. I have worked for charities and equalities groups for 6 years and working full time whilst studying for this. Is there a scholarship I can get in the US? To study a professional law qualification? Now I do realize there are way too many lawyers in the US and I will not be able to find work blah blah blah, but I just want to live in the US for a while, I love it there and really want to experience life there : ) I would come over to work but it seems almost impossible. So, I was thinking there are scholarships for UK graduates right? If I’m exceptional at the subject, and if I have a strong commitment etc. Enlighten me please? Thanks and merry Christmas.xxxx

The truth is this: there are virtually no scholarships for legal studies to be had in the United States. You would be seeking an LLM for foreign legal graduates, and these programs in particular are cash cows for American law schools; schools generally don't offer scholarships for them, with the possible exception of places like Yale, which is of course a law professor training academy and not a law school at all.

Accident Reporting in School in the UK - what are the rules?
I am pretty sure I know the answer but need to double check before giving my son's school an ear bashing about it. My 10 year old attends special sessions at school to help with his co-ordination, some sort of exercise classes to help with the problem. On the way home today I noticed something red round his neckline so checked closer and he has a friction burn about 3 inches long around his neck, I asked how it had happened and he says he had an accident with a skipping rope in his session and it strangled him, I asked if there was an accident report in his bag for me about it and he says nothing was filled in, but the teacher was aware of what happened and the mark came up later. Later in class that day, his main class teacher asked how he got the mark and he told her, yet she also didn't follow it up or record/report it in any way. Obviously I'm quite annoyed that the school seem to have totally ignored what could have been 100 x times more serious, no contact with me, no record of the incident ... I am pretty sure that laws in the school must be similar to that of the workplace and that this should have at the minimum been recorded in an accident book, am I right?

The school is certainly legally obliged to record accidents/incidents. Whether there is a similar onus to inform parents is nebulous but it ought at least to be considered sensible to do so. How a child 'accidentally' gets a friction burn, such as you describe, from a skipping rope is definitely cause for concern and I would certainly give the school a rocket and demand the details. It's easy enough for schools to pay lip service to policies and pursue parents where abuse is suspected and a member of staff who sees the mark and doesn't know what happened might rightly raise concerns. If you don't like the answers given, follow the complaints procedure to its highlest level and involve your local, elected representatives. As an extreme measure, I got police involved when a school failed to deal with a violent bullying issue and the remedial effect was instant. Good luck :o)

What is the progression through school in the US and in UK, (ages and stages)?
In England we have, foundation stage(3-5 including a reception class- only reception are full time) Key stage 1 - infants, age 5-7 (year 1 & 2) Key stage 2 - juniors, age 7 - 11 (year 3,4,5 & 6) key stage 3 - secondary school, 11 - I get lost at that point can anyone finish that for me? What is the system in the US I here about high school and sophmores and haven't a clue what it all means.

Will there be yearbooks in UK high schools

Will there be yearbooks in UK high schools?
Will the school provide us with yearbooks to the Yr 11s before they leave? Is that a usual tradition in the UK as it is in the US? Thank you!!! :)

At my secondary school, they issued Year 11s (15-16) with yearbooks butu applied a charge. Each student had an individual photograph with a comment by a friend, and there were group ones at the back, along with things like people most likely to... and number ones when they first started.
