Mid 30s, my degree was in English (4 A levels in humanities and languages). Is this going to make it impossible to get in to Med school in the UK? Would I need to gain work experience first?

Not so much "impossible" as "impractical" - being as considering how long you'd be in school with no income, while acquiring debt to pay for your schooling, and factoring in that you won't be done until you're pushing 50 and still have years of debt to pay off.............. the call is one only you can make.
