You're best bet would be to phone up your local college and see if they offer GCSE's, if they don't then they will probably be able to put you in touch with another college who do. Good luck :)

If you've graduated secondary school in the UK then you can't go to High school in the US, you'd be repeating your schooling. You can always go to a community college (a 2-year, not a university) , they typically have basketball programs. But be sure that you have an actual educational goal as well, since you are a foreign national, you'll probably pay double in tuition than a state resident would.

Does the UK provide healthcare for a US citizen going to school on a visa in the UK

Does the UK provide healthcare for a US citizen going to school on a visa in the UK?
If I were to go to school in England I'd have to get a visa I assume. If I got sick and have no American health insurance would the hospitals in England provide me heathcare at no cost like they do their citizens?

you will need health insurance because they will charge other wise

There's no such thing as 'no cost' healthcare, it's subsidised by contributions to the national insurance system. In the event of an emergency you would be treated, it is at the discretion of the hospital if they charge you but under current guidelines, the hospital will be expected to charge you & pursue you for the cost of treatment.

Hi, most schools will give you a list before you start or on your induction day. But generally you need; glue sticks, scissors, a scientific calculator, ruler, protractor, compass, pens and pencils, tip-ex (if allowed), rubbers, sharpeners. I find colours and highlighters come in useful also, even though they are not required. But don't worry if you don't have everything, most teachers are ok with it if you explain you haven't got something. Good luck with your new school :)
