Who had an experience with wearing a school uniform at secondary school? (from the UK)?
I'm a student from Slovakia, dealing with my thesis about school uniforms and I need to fill in a few questionnaires. It really won't take long (only 7 short questions). Would any of you be willing to fill it for me? It is anonymous. Here you can download it http://s.ics.upjs.sk/~olejar/dp/guestionnaireUK.doc and after completing send it back to me via email. No printing... Thanks a lot!

Uniforms are a good idea, they remove this stuped designer brigade, unless you wear the correct clothes you are a nobody. maybe some of them should start buying their own clothes. I cannot understand Parents that let their children get away with it. Stop schools being a fashion show. They are there to learn. What about the kids who's parents cannot afford the stuff. all the best RR

All schools in England have a uniform and I personally think it is great. There is not the daily concern over 'what will I wear today' and when you go out away from school you look and feel totally different.

Unless you can wait a few more months until October when the have Pirates week, its a balst they close the whole town streets and all and have parties out where people dance, can eat and drink and teh pirate ship comes in they have a big parade, dancers, its a great experience.August is also a good time to go, if your up tp scuba diving, plenty of good spots, night clubs are great as well..

state school the school year starts in September and ends in July. Now can I have the best answer? =)
2 :
I'm pretty sure they get free school unless it's private until they're 18. it works out to something like regular school then 2 years of college
3 :
Yes, in the US a Public School is a state school. In the UK a Public School is actually a Private, fee paying, school. A regular, non-fee paying school would just be a State School or a school run by the local Authority or Municipality.

ppl pay tuition in PS? wowahhweeWAH

government funded schools in the UK are called State Schools. The schools you pay for here are called Private or Indepent schools. In the UK however, a Public School is an Independent school you pay tuition fees for, usually termly but most pay annually.
