Once you are 16 years old in the UK, what is education like? How many more years of school are there after tha?
I know that once you hit 16, students can either stop school or take A-levels, but how long do you study for A-Levels for before you take the exam?

Usually 2 years.

There is 1-2 years left and I suggest you finish them if you take A- Levels it's very hard to get a job cuz they always ask if you finished school
3 :
you study a levels for 2 years but you can stop after 1 year and just come out with half an A level (as level) but then after 2 years you could progress to uni or start working
4 :
2 years, you have AS level exams then A level exams
5 :
you go on to do a/s levels now at college which is the first year, normally 4 subjects, the 2nd year of college you can drop a subject and do the full a level in the 3 subjects, after there you go to uni, how long you stay depends on what you study..
6 :
At age 16 you would normally have 2 years of A level study to do, the providing you get the necessary grade, you then go on to uni.

Well,if your 16 then you're probably doing/ have already done your O'Levels. After that comes your A'levels which is a combination 2 years. What i mean by this is that your first A' Level year you will sit your AS examinations (typically you do 4 subjects here).then your second and last year you will sit your A'levels (which is a typical of 3 subjects-you drop one subject you did the previous year). The grades that you get from both years are combined to get your final A'Level grades. Hope its not too confusing.

Can anybody tell me about how's living and working in Canada like? And in what area in Canada is the best

Can anybody tell me about how's living and working in Canada like? And in what area in Canada is the best?
I'd like to know where in Canada is the best to settle for a family, the lifestyle, cost of living, working condition, if taxes are more than we usually pay here in UK, school standards, investments, and how long before we could get permanent residency?

i live in canada.. and have lived here my whole life.. i live in ontario. our schools are okay.. cost of living isn't to bad either.. i live quite comfortably on my salary (and i dont' make a pile).. canada is a pretty clean place.. lots of green space.. you can live either in a rural area.. or a larger city.. many rural areas have all the things you need close by... they are just starting to bring taxes down a little.. and we are really looking for imigrants from what i've heard

Canada is a big country and every province is unique in it`s own way.It would be hard to say that there is a best place to settle.French is the official language of Quebec and you will have to learn french if you move there.I do not know what you pay for taxes in UK so i can not compare. If want information on immigrating to Canada look up www.cic.gc.ca

Climate wise you will find the lower mainland of BC being the most consistent with the UK. It is also quite beautiful. You will likely earn less in Canada, but there are less taxes, and cheaper cost of living on most major things. School standards are quite comparable. Investments are generally the same as the UK....there are some restrictions on foreign content in RSP's, which are tax deffered retirement investments. Otherwise, if you don't mind taxes, you can invest in virtually anything, anywhere. PR status is probably 4 years away, unless you apply as an investor and open a company, or as a skillled trade or professional, and find a company to sponsor you for PNP. (Provincial Nominee Program)

Australians finishing school (doing year 12) in UK

Australians finishing school (doing year 12) in UK?
Is this possible? I am planning to do a year in France and then come home to Australia to do year 12, but then that just means I finish school in two years rather than one... So my question is, can you just go to united kingdom (say ireland hehe) and do year twelve there instead? If you have like a host family or something? Or would I have to do year 11 and 12... Thanks ;)

Our last year of school in England isn't 12, it's 13. You would have serious problems doing just year 13, because the exams at the end of it are strongly based on you having done a two year course, both years 12 and 13. It's unlikely that the overlap with what you've been studying in Australia or France would be sufficient for you to cope (it's strongly recommended that you don't even switch school at that point). You'd almost certainly be advised to do two years. (And Ireland isn't part of the UK, the education system there is probably entirely different. It's even different in Scotland which is part of the UK.)
