because Americans are coincidence and all Americans do is go into other countries stir the pot and then leave
2 :
a lot of americans have an arrogance about them, they think they and america is better than everybody else and the american way, is the only way

I don't think they have anything against Americans Sure you gonna get some people that are but thats just life ;P They might however by amused by such things as stereotypical Americans are really fat and also they have funny accent but I wouldnt go as far as saying they hate them... ;)

I'm English.I don't think people would hate an american.the reason most uk people r against USA people is because in your tv,films, etc all the british people are portrayed as either gay, super posh and acting like they are from 1800s or always eating scones or tea and speaking like Shakespeare or sayin stuff like ello guvna etc.I would love to see an American arriving at an English airport going ' where's all the posh people?!'also you hate our supposedly posh accents which we actually don't have but we hate American accents cause they sound quite whiny and drawling.basically most Americans seem to have looked at England in 1800s then still think we are like that.

I'm not sure what you're talking about. Loads of Americans visit here on vacation every year and thousands live here permanently. Millions of us visit the USA each year on holiday. We watched US TV shows and movies all the time. We can't stand your country's politicians, but that doesn't mean we have a problem with ordinary, individual Americans.

I wouldn't base your feelings about our opinions of us by comments on this site. Unfortunately, there is an element that like to stir things up. You will find equally negative remarks about people in UK written by Americans who have never even been here. Come over here and you will find that the vast majority of us like Americans.

Here in Britain people spend millions on American fast food, products, movies and holidays, yet gripe about Americans constantly because they are an easy target, and they have Americans on the brain

Because the yanks don't know where Canada is

I think this question is hilarious!! Ok, first of all 'uk people' are called british, so unless you want some serious hating on your hands, don't call them 'uk people' to their face, ok? LOL I'm neither british nor american, so haven't really experienced this controversy, however it just seems to me that it's a question of different styles. The british in general (and unless drunk) tend to be somewhat reserved, private and understated. This is obviously a generalisation that is increasingly called into question. In any case, I'm sure you'd really enjoy your visit over here, don't be deterred by a few silly slurs. Btw, the british also use pounds, miles and inches, so you should be ok in that department :) Have fun if you decide to visit!!
